Understanding the Future of Immersion Crypto Mining

Introduction

In this article, we are going to dive deep into the Alphapex DG1 Plus Dogecoin Miner. If you are someone with a keen interest in cryptocurrency mining, especially Dogecoin, then this is a must-read for you. After using it for just a few days, I can confidently say that this is one hell of an Asic Miner – technically the best Dogecoin Miner available in the market today. So, let’s head on over to the shed and take a closer look.

The Practical Media Tour

After endless days of heavy rain in Pennsylvania, the sun finally came out, allowing us to make this video. Our home crypto mining shed is 6×8 and currently hosts multiple devices like IP poo, Jazz miners, Hyro Miner, K3 K7, gold shell miners, box miners and not to forget, the DG1 Plus. The setup also includes an immersion dry cooler and 150 amps of electric power flowing into the shed!

The Noise Challenge

Dealing With Acoustics

A big challenge with this type of setup is indeed the noise. The DG1 Plus, despite its excellence, is a major contributor. The fans on the Alphapex DG1 Plus frequently ramp up and then come down, causing quite a racket. It’s a strange occurrence since neither the K10 nor the other Bit M miners have displayed this behavior before.

The Alphapex DG1 Plus – An Overview

The Alphapex DG1 Plus stands tall with a record-breaking processing power of 14 gigahashes. Being power-hungry, it uses just under 4000 WTS. However, the machine has been performing exceptionally well since its installation, with no need for power cycling.

Is it profitable?

Given the hefty price tag of $10,000, the real question is – is the DG1 Plus profitable? The answer is an overwhelming yes. The miner pays out in both Doge and Litecoin, making it quite profitable. However, there was one thought that kept crossing my mind – what if we could earn more Bitcoin using it?

Enter: Nice Hash

Nice Hash’s platform allows you to do just that. Upon checking their mining hardware list, I found out that both Alphapex DG1 Plus and DG1 are compatible. The current net profit as per Nice Hash of DG1 Plus is around $182 per day, which is significantly higher than what I was earning from direct script mining. So the switch to Nice Hash seemed inevitable.

Four Hours Later…

Jumping over to Nice Hash, I added the DG1 Plus to my account and waited before coming back four hours later to check the progress. To my surprise, the DG1 Plus was making approximately $28.6 per hour, even higher than Nice Hash’s estimate! In comparison, direct script mining to a Dogecoin only pool would have earned me only $24 per hour.

Conclusions

Conducting this experiment was indeed worth the effort. It provided valuable insights into the DG1 Plus and highlighted the benefits of using Nice Hash for Bitcoin mining. The results were clear as day: using Nice Hash with DG1 Plus gives you a more profitable venture than mining directly to a native pool.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re looking to enter the crypto mining world or a seasoned miner considering upgrading your equipment, the DG1 Plus is a solid choice. When used wisely (with a platform like Nice Hash), it can yield a high profit. But the question remains, is the additional few dollars a day worth the switch to Nice Hash? Let us know your thoughts!

  1. If yesterday you notice an extra hash in unmineable for 30' it's my fault I got the DG1 you review. Upgrade the firmware to V1.0.2 and also got the same change in fan speed. It's soon to say but until now ElphaPex looks promissing. Regarding BTC it depends on the size of your Doge bag, mine has less than 16 hours.

  2. I love having LTC/Doge miners. I've had my GPU's off, but using ltc/doge asics on Unmineable, mining-dutch, zpool and others. You can accumulate tons of altcoins using these miners. Even when LTC/Doge prices drop or fluctuate, it's not as bad as most other coins.

  3. Do you have any recommendations for a mini PC ($500-$1500) to run NiceHash CPU/GPU mining on and get BTC payout? Would that even be worth it? It would sit on my desk and only do mining as i'd have no other use for it. I ask because my computers are Macs and mining on Macs is not a thing lol.

  4. the problem is that dodge will get you more funds in year than bitcoin. there is so much more room for it to double than for bitcoin to double. bitcoin is so high its kind of a waste to stack it. feb 1st doge was at 0.079 now its 0.1526 so there is so much more room for it to double and triple.

  5. I'm mining 20+ Dogecoin per day with my three Goldshell miners. Two are running on solar + battery. I convert my Doge to BTC once a week on Coinbase where there is no network fee. I'm getting more solar panels on Monday and then all 3 miners will be on solar + battery. I'm using Unmineble at 0.75% pool fee. The only issue is, it doesn't do LTC at the same time. What's the pool fee on Nicehash doing it this way?
